Bug Description
I have my laptop set to auto standby when I close the lid. However, I am still in the habit of clicking the standby button before closing the lid. When I do this, after I resume and log in the system goes into standby again, I assume because it delays the first standby in order to fulfill the second standby requested when I close the lid.
While it is technically doing what I requested it to (standby twice), I would expect to only have to log in once to resume from standby, whether or not I've closed the lid.
I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 on a Dell Latitude E6400. If you need more information, let me know and I will add it.

Do you have a second desktop-environment installed? Like XFCE or LXDE? Because a second power manger (additional to the gnome-power- manager) could be the reason.
