There is a 1.1.0 version available at sourceforge: http://
It has sound and music support. I have tested the binaries in Hardy and in Lucid Lynx Alpha 2 (VirtualBox) and the game works nice.

Looks like this took quite some time, but hex-a-hop 1.1.0 is available in Ubuntu 18.04 and later (1.1.0+
