Bug Description

Binary package hint: pitivi

I imported a pair of files from my camera into pitivi - using Import clips; they both seem to be added until I try and drag one onto the time line, then I get a dialog that says:

GStreamer encountered a general stream error.

gstqueue.c(1177): gst_queue_loop (): /GstPipeline:pipeline0/GstBin:bin0/GnlComposition:gnlcomposition1/GnlSource:gnlsource4/GstBin:bin5/pitivi+elements+singledecodebin+SingleDecodeBin:pitivi+elements+singledecodebin+singledecodebin4/GstQueue:queue7:
streaming task paused, reason not-linked (-1)

Interestingly the dialog itself had no title which I guess also needs fixing.

The files show as:
dg@major:~/Videos$ file *
SS100826.AVI: RIFF (little-endian) data, AVI, 640 x 480, 30.00 fps, video: XviD, audio: ADPCM (mono, 22050 Hz)
SS100827.AVI: RIFF (little-endian) data, AVI, 640 x 480, 30.00 fps, video: XviD, audio: ADPCM (mono, 22050 Hz)
dg@major:~/Videos$

and seem to play ok in Totem (that claims to be using gstreamer).

It doesn't seem to be repeatable, in the sense it now seems to be taking them OK and I can glue the two videos together in it.

Can you attach a sample video file?

I can't reproduce the problem on my end with PiTiVi git, the gstreamer packages from the PPA and Ubuntu 9.10.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However your report is missing some information, may you please run pitivi as: PITIVI_DEBUG=*:5 GST_DEBUG=2 bin/pitivi > debug.log 2>&1 . Compress that log file with gzip, bzip2, etc and attach it to the report? Thanks in advance!.

Well,
I formatted all pictures to HD (as set in preferences), but it does the same.
I started a new project, added 4 pictures, no problem. Changed opacity curves, no problem.
Import and insert a 5th. picture, and there it is:
Problem:GStreamer encountered a general stream error.
Extra information:gstbasesrc.c(2507): gst_base_src_loop (): /GstPipeline:pipeline0/GstBin:bin0/GnlComposition:gnlcomposition0/GnlSource:gnlsource: VideoTestSourceFactory27/GstBin:bin30/GstVideoTestSrc:videotestsrc17:
