KMail expects IMAP folder "INBOX.A" to exist when "INBOX.A.B" exists

Bug Description

Binary package hint: kmail

I have several "archive" IMAP folders, called "INBOX.archive.2008", "INBOX.archive.2009", etc. There is no "INBOX.archive" folder. When KMail checks my mail, I get an error popup containing a server error "INBOX.archive does not exist or needs to be subscribed to". I would expect KMail to only query IMAP folders that exist. The server-side subscription dialog box correctly shows that the "archive" folder cannot be subscribed to. However, KMail still insists on accessing that folder when checking for new mail, or when I click on it.

I've attached a screenshot of the dialog box.

I'm using Kubuntu 9.10:

kmail:
  Installed: 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu6

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more effective debugging.

Thanks!
