Bug Description

Binary package hint: yelp

I have been keeping digital photos for over 10 years now and I am trying to import those 35,000 photos into f-spot.
First of all it always gives me an error when trying to import .TIF files.
it has imported around 10 thousands photos so far but it crashes when i try to import the rest, I still have about 19,000 to import.
I am using import without copying the files but i selected the options to detect doubles (doublons) and include sub-folders.
Maybe I should use another photo manager that can handle such a large database of photos, what would you recommend?
I would prefer to use my existing ACDSee 2.5 pro if that was possible but I dont mind trying whatever is here in Ubuntu, as long as it works! Thank you for your kind help.

Thanks for the report, could you run f-spot as: f-spot --debug &> f-spot.txt ; reproduce the issue and attach that resulting file to the report? Thanks in advance.

I am a new Ubuntu user, 3 days only, Pedro and do not understand what you are asking me to do.
Please explain in other terms. I do not know how to run as: f-spot --debug &> f-spot.txt
I do not know how to attach the results either?

You will find the f-spot.txt in your personal folder please attach it the file. If You don´t find it do in the Terminal:

cd Desktop
sudo f-spot --debug &> f-spot.txt

And You will find in your Desktop the file for attach. For attaching write a comment in here

Hello Pedro, it looks like i successfully imported 22,759 photos.
Now I am trying to work with them in a way similar to ACDSee Pro 2.5, a renowned software for photographer but the FSpot application crashes on multiple request: for example on some of my photos the date is set as 2098 and if i select the photo and click on edit, set date, the application disappears all together. It closes without any warning and i have done that repeatedly to correct the wrong date but to no success.
There have been so many problems with FSpot that I will not recommend this software to amateur photographers because it is so unstable.
.
I am a new Ubuntu user, never used Linux before so I am not able to test other options like Lucid, sorry.
