Bug Description
Please add support for {date}, which should give the date in YYYYMMDD format. This makes the version string shorter that {time} and is sufficient for packages that are build at most once a day.

Hi,
I see no problem supporting this, and it should be easy to do.
For anyone that is interested, you just have to look for how {time} is handled,
and then add parallel stuff for {date}, there should only be around 3 places to change,
plus tests, which I can help you with.
Thanks,
James
