Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

I have a Samsung N130 netbook with a multitouch-capable Synaptics 7.2 touchpad, but for some reason, Xorg doesn't see the multi-finger capabilities that the touchpad offers. I shall attach a debug-info file from the mouse control panel in Windows (press alt-shift-i); in that debug panel, I can see the number of fingers work up to 3. synclient -m <time> (once I enable SHMConfig) doesn't ever show more than one finger.

This lack of multi-finger detection also causes some odd behavior -- one time when putting two fingers on the pad, the cursor started flickering back and forth between two points on the screen, as if I were moving my finger back and forth impossibly quickly.

... on second thought, this may be a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/308191 . I shall attach my synaptics debug info there.
