linebreak in opie-terminal broken

line break in the opie terminal application is broken in a number of ways

let's say you have a command that takes up more than one line. You delete characters from the end, but the cursor will never jump from line X to X-1. Characters will continue to be deleted, though.

Another observation; Start to type a few character, then go back to the beginning of the line and type some more. Once the last character hits the end-of-the line funny line breaks will occur.

I believe this is a bug not in opie-terminal itself, but in one of the libs. Does the terminal application use VTE?
