Bug Description
Inkscape 0.47, your downloaded binary for Windows.
Windows XP Pro x64 edition, up-to-date.
Epson Stylus Photo R1900 printer
When I "Print", I get the usual Windows dialog box as one tab in the Print pop-up. I use the [Preferences] button and specify all the particulars, including what kind of paper stock and color management to use.
However, all my settings are *ignored* by Inkscape, and it prints using the default settings for the printer. The defaults are for Premium Glossy Photo Paper with the "gloss overcoat", which, when applied to my "plain" paper gave a soggy result. I can see in the Epson Status Monitor that these (wrong) settings are the reason for the result (and seriously expended G.O. fluid). These settings happen to be the default, so I'm supposing that you are not picking up the "Preferences".
As it turns out, this particular drawing won't export to PDF either, so it was quite a challenge to print it acceptably. I'd like to point out that the printer preferences give significant changes to the operation of the printer, so in some cases not handling them is simply not an option.
