why was my system listed as AMD64? My system is AMD 32 bit! Also down loaded Ubuuntu 9.10 twice and had burn several CDs to get this interrupted install. Cd-rom is clean!

Bug Description

Binary package hint: devicekit-disks

This is an error message I got when I tried to boot with live cd in windows;

no win disk
"Exception processing message c0000013 parameters 75b6bf7c 4 75b6f7c 75b6bf7c

I was not able to install in windows or Ubuntu 8.04, installed using the boot menu. First three disks I burned, reported boot error. This last disk I burned after downloading a new copy of 9.10 i386, from usa mirror, which I hope was a 32 bit version. and not a 64 bit.

The package info was not to clear on Ubuntu site. In the examples folder there is a open office file in Russian, if that helps Identify the package.

ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ apt-cache policy packagename
W: Unable to locate package packagename
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$

synaptic 0.62.5

The partitioner needs more work, I would say, otherwise the installation went well till the Jockey crashed. The program installer really needs work. Maybe a little less automation could be traded for reliability. Sorry didn't mean to rant.

thank you for all your hard work on the distributions.
