Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase

When opening a plain text file from an URL, Konqueror switches to an editor mode (running Kate inside the content pane, if I am not mistaken).

When using the Search input box while in this editor mode, the sourcecode of the search page will be opened in the editor instead of Konqueror laoding and rendering the website.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more effective debugging.

Thanks!

If I am not mistaken, the process of triaging a bug consists of locating it, having it completed, reporting it upstream and conencting the upstream bug report to the Ubuntu bug report.

I can happily report it upstream, but it is still valid here.

Closing in favor of upstream bug. This is not going to be fixed on Kubuntu's end, but must be fixed in KDE, upon which it will naturally end up in Kubuntu.
Please refer to the upstream report for further status updates.
Thanks.
