Ubuntu installated by Wubi doesn't mount host HD with diacritics support

Attached screenshot shows Ubuntu installed at Win XP by Wubi. Expected state is correct nonASCII representation (and ideally rw access to Win home folder for regular user = nonroot)

As seems this problem occurs only when host XP use vfat. The machine with ntfs works perfectly.

Since it should work when using NTFS, that is the preferred workaround, I would prefer not to invest time in expanding support for vfat installations at this stage.

What about detect vfat during setup and give suggestion convert vfat to ntfs? (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb456984.aspx)
