Bug Description

Hello Jonathan,

I wrote some code to import files from Kino project file. I made it to the same branch where I had made the renaming feature so they are both in this new bzr diff attachment (0.9.52)

----- short description -----
There is one more entry in the Project Files popup menu: Import Kino Project.

Select the Kino project file after which the data concerning the video files are read along with the "in" and "out" points. The files are appended into the current project (if they are not there) and the clips are inserted (anyway) into the first empty track found. If there are not empty tracks one will be created and the clips are appended there.

I have a lot of unedited videomaterial waiting. I use Kino to preview the files and trim the clips because it's very suitable for that. Then I save the kino project file and now it contains the names of the files (along with in and out points) that I will import into Openshot.

And could you have the Utilisation of the projects Kdenlive/Openshot & vice versa Openshot/kdenlive in Openshot ?
Thanks. I put it because it's the same thing, the purpose is the same, but not the way certainly.

milestone: 1.1.0 → 1.2.0

BTW, MLT's XML producer already has the ability to read Kino SMIL XML. This means you should already be able to load the Kino project as a clip in OpenShot as long as it does not try to prevent it.

hi Timo,

I'm working on the support in input of the kdenlive project. I'm in the beginning

I think that there is some part of the code that we could pool.

I will apply your patch on my version to see your work.

Are you ok to discuss about that with me ?

I think it's not good to have a way to import a kino project, and another way to import a kdenlive project. And another to open a osp project.

I'll come back to you.

thank

Steeve

Instead of a tight integration with OpenShot, it would be great to see a tool (for OpenShot) that could convert various file formats into OpenShot's (human-readable) file format.

That tool would then be tightly integrated with OpenShot, but also run from the command line.

As Dan mentions earlier in this bug thread, MLT can read Kino xml - just wondered if anyone has verified if importing a Kino project file to Openshot works as expected.

Before we can apply this patch, we need someone to update it to be compatible with the trunk. Then, we'll do our best to include it. Thanks!
