Bug Description
Binary package hint: nautilus
ubuntu 64-bit desktop, 9.10 --
When using the "Take Screenshot" utility from the menus (Applications -> Accessories -> Take Screenshot), and selecting "Grab the Current Window" radio button, the screenshot isn't generated properly.
- When choosing to "include the window border" in the screenshot, the screenshot utility seems to die -- the screenshot isn't taken and the "save as" dialog does not appear. (That is to say, after clicking the "Take Screenshot" button, nothing happens)
- When choosing NOT to "include the window border", the 'save as' dialog does appear and appears to work properly with one major exception -- the screenshot saved (and the screenshot thumbnail shown in the 'save as' dialog) is NOT of the current window. Instead, the screenshot that is taken appears to be of the upper left corner of the desktop. See attached screenshot for example of the result.
Notes:
Display drivers: VirtualBox drivers. (Ubuntu is running as guest in VirtualBox)
Tested with "current window" being both firefox and nautilus, and gedit. Results are always the same -- it is impossible to take a window-only screenshot.
