printer goes to pending and never prints

Binary package hint: kdeutils

I can hook the printer to a neighboring printer so I know all cables etc are not faulty - has to be in the software?

When I go to print anything I go to File "print" the file goes to the printer
and gets a pending tag and just sits there.
