non-default color theme corrupted after gnome-settings-daemon restart

Bug Description

In Lucid (up-to-date as of 2010-01-17, gnome-terminal 2.28.1-1ubuntu1), whenever gnome-settings-
One would expect the colors to change back when gnome-settings-
However, the colors don't change back to what is set in the profile. Instead I get a strange dark gray (#1a1a1a) on light pink (#e6ddd5) color theme.
Selecting another color theme and switching back to the original in Profile Preferences does fix the colors back to normal.
This is especially annoying as I've changed the default system color theme to the "Gray on black" built-in theme in Gnome-Terminal. In this case the colors are
- gray on light gray after gnome-settings-
- gray on light pink after gnome-settings-
Due to this bug I've noticed that it's not rare for gnome-settings-
