Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnu-standards

The GNU coding standards have been updated on May 8 2006, according to their page at

http://www.gnu.org/prep/standards_toc.html

The current version is 2005.03.08, more than a year out of date. This file is simply a repackaging of files from the GNU homepage; it should be relatively simple to update it.

The standards have been updated on 2008.02.23; the newest version in the repositories (still 2005.03.08) is now three years out of date.

The standards have moved. (The URL in the original report redirects.) The two standards we provide (the maintainer guide and the standards guide) are available at the following URLs.

The Debian update (packaged on June 23, but released after the freeze on July 4) should be automatically imported in Intrepid+1, since there are no Ubuntu-specific customizations to the package.
