Bug Description

I have a VM called Groundwork running and I was attempting to add additional storage to the guest. I am using LVs as the back-end block devices. I have a 10G LV called Groundwork-Xtra that I'm trying to attach to the VM. Everytime, libvirtd crashes and I have to restart the service from /etc/init.d/libvirt-bin.

sudo virsh attach-disk Groundwork /dev/daemion/Groundwork-Xtra hdb
Connecting to uri: qemu:///system
error: server closed connection

output in /var/log/messages:

Confirmation that libvirt is dead when attempting to run the same command a second time:

sudo virsh attach-disk Groundwork /dev/daemion/Groundwork-Xtra hdb
Connecting to uri: qemu:///system
error: unable to connect to '/var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock': Connection refused
error: failed to connect to the hypervisor

Have to run: /etc/init.d/libvirt-bin stop; /etc/init.d/libvirt-bin start in order to get virsh working again

In following the instructions, I receive a version mismatch error for the dbgsym for libvirt-bin...

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  libvirt-bin-dbgsym: Depends: libvirt-bin (= 0.7.0-1ubuntu13) but 0.7.0-1ubuntu13.1 is to be installed

also as such:

sudo apt-get install libvirt-bin-dbgsym=0.7.0-1ubuntu13.1

E: Version '0.7.0-1ubuntu13.1' for 'libvirt-bin-dbgsym' was not found

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Lucid Lynx. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
