I am getting the "Aw, Snap!" message regularly now. I pulled the most recent updates today and ever since, about 1 in 8 pages starts to display and then displays the Aw, Snap error... Firefox renders these pages fine.

I am on Karmic running Chromium (4.0.302.0 (36505)) via the Daily PPA... I understand that this is experimental, but I was searching for a fix for this issue, stumbled here and decided to add my 'me-too'.

Let me know if you need anything from me.

My problem is exactly likely the same as EzNet with Chromium (4.0.302.0 (36505)) via the Daily PPA

Same here: with the latest Chromium Daily, 1 in 8 (or more) pages start to display, then quickly go to "Aw, Snap".

Interestingly, it is certain pages that can reproduce the error all of the time. Examples: slashdot.org, igoogle.com, weather.com, wave.google.com

Other pages: mashable.com, metafilter.com, bank site all load OK.

I do believe that Minh Nghi may be right... I have just installed the newest release via the Update Manager and blog.reddit.com loads without issue (was previously an every time error for me).

Kudos!

Closing this since it appears to be fixed. Feel free to reopen if the bug reappears.

Just so you know, the chromium-browser package is the one you actually want. The chromium package is a game, completely unrelated to the web browser. Confusing, I know.

affects: chromium (Ubuntu) → chromium-browser (Ubuntu)
Changed in chromium-browser (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid
