Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

I am using :
Description: Ubuntu lucid (development branch)
Release: 10.04
And it is the alpha 2 (as done with the upgrade manager) yesterday.

details of nautilus:
nautilus:
  Installed: 1:2.29.1-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 1:2.29.1-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 1:2.29.1-0ubuntu2 0
        500 http://im.archive.ubuntu.com lucid/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Problem is nautilus crashed once it completed a transfer (of either on or many files) to or from a usb Disk (this was tested using USB 2.0 HDD's) it is reproducable and it occurs once the file has been completely copied...

This is my first bug report so please go easy and can you give me some feedback of if I need to include more info in future?

This is more of a slight annoyance but it seems like it is maybe easily fixed by the appropriate people...

I can reproduce this bug when copying a larger file or files (around 150MB or greater) to a USB flash drive, but not when moving a small text file to the same drive.

after a couple of restarts (and getting up to date using apt-get) I no longer have this issue...

the files where a series of 50 10-15mb files, and one 700mb file, it seems to no-longer happen

On a fresh install of Lucid, dated 2010-04-01, I transferred 99026 files, total 1.6GB, of various sizes. I did not get any errors in this transfer.

Can you please try this with an up to date installation and see if the bug has been resolved for you?

I am no longer experiencing this error with an up-to-date Lucid install. It seems to have been fixed.
