Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

ubuntuone-client: 1.0.3-0ubuntu1
python-ubuntuone-storageprotocol: 1.0.1-0ubuntu1
Ubuntu 9.10

Expected behavior : starting Ubuntu One in the Gnome menu should access the service.

Actual behavior : the notification tells it's updating > a webpage opens and asks me to confirm this (my) computer's access, displaying the right hostname. When I confirm, I get redirected to xxxx (it goes too fast for me to read it, and at this moment, a new webpage opens and asks for confirmation for my computer's access. Like the other guy, I guess I could do it all day long :)

Hi Simon,

This is waiting to get into Karmic. You can test out this fix by doing the following:

1. System->Administration->Software Sources
2. Click on the Updates tab
3. Check "Proposed updates (karmic-proposed)"
4. Close the dialog
5. Refresh when prompted

Then go into System->Administration->Synaptic Package Manager and select "Ubuntu One Client" to upgrade.

Thank you,

Joshua

Hello Josh,

I have taken the following steps :
- cleaned FF history/cache/etc.
- stopped the syncdaemon
- closed the applet
- closed FF and Evolution
- reinstalled ubuntuone-client-gnome & deps from the
karmic-proposed-updates repo
- launched the applet
- connected to the webpage

Here's what I got :
- my CouchDB Adressbook got uploaded, and some files as well.
- there are only a few seconds on logged-in state (full cloud icon),
after which it changes to an exclamation mark with arrows around it.
- status is : connected. Also, I am logged into my LP account etc.
- I get my Adressbook in Evolution, can use it, but can not seem to
properly update this stuff, although I'm giving it a few more shots. If
I create a contact in my CouchDB Adressbook, it doesn't appear on the
webpage (maybe I am missing something basic here ?)
- the loop is still there, the battle rages on : maybe I'll catch a
second of weakness on the bug's side and get around it :)

Regards,

Simon Benichou
