Bug Description

Binary package hint: gkrellm

gkrellm 2.3.2-4ubuntu2
Ubuntu 9.10

I am running xfce4 with compiz.

Previously, gkrellm has correctly set its status as dock or panel, so that maximised windows have not covered it.

Now, maximised windows are going to the screen edge, behind gkrellm. see attached screenshot.

The same problem suddenly also appeared for me today (2011-06-27). I am running on a fully updated Ubuntu 10.10. My last update was 3 days ago, so there should be no problem from this. Rebooting does not help.

The only unusual thing I remember having done before the problem started was to change the configuration of gnome-terminal (allow unlimited back-scroll). So, my guess right now is that gconf somehow got messed up. But, using gconf-editor, I do not find any gconf entries for kgrellm. Should there be some?

With the xsession-error messages listed above, I share only
"(polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:2269): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed"

OK, here's my fix!

Make sure gkrellm is positioned perfectly at the edge of the screen. Moving it one pixel inward generates the problem above. Putting gkrellm back right to the edge fixes it.
