Bug Description

Binary package hint: yelp

"Requires the installation of untrusted packages". I switched from windows to Ubuntu linux because of the problems with windows. The earlier version of Ubuntu worked great, no problems with installing new software. After updating to the latest Ubuntu, installation of new software is almost impossible. Ubuntu does not allow the installation of most of the software listed in the Ubuntu software centre. If it is not trusted why list it?
Where should I go? Windows? God forbid!

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a bug in software-center.
For future reference you might be interested to know that a lot of applications have bug reporting functionality built in to them. Looks you didn't have a proper keyring. Can you still reproduce this problem.

Sorry for not getting back to you. I have all but given up on Ubuntu. I
have not used it since the bug report. I tried to do a software update
this morning but it didn't work. I received the following message:

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure
-a' to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

It means very little to me. like most MS Windows users we are not used
to doing things in command prompt, we use 'windows' with mouse clicks!

If you would like me to try something else let me know.

Regards

Louis

P.S. I just noticed that Evolution Mail does not insert all previous
correspondence when I "reply" it seems to have left some of it off.
