Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

With kde running on local station:

1. perform xhost +

2. telnet into another station, export DISPLAY to the local station. Lauch an application with GUI.

3. the GUI shows up on the local station. Select the GUI, and something which would spawn another window.

4. the new window would not show up on the local station, the cursor still moves with the mouse, but we cannot select anything. The local display is virtually out of action until the process is killed on the remote station. The content of the window would still be updated correctly though.

The problem only happens after running startkde. It does not happen if we run xinit, kwin and then plasma-desktop. I am not sure what exactly in startkde caused that.

I am running the karmic stream with the latest updates.

It works before but I am not sure when, probably before kde4.

Whatever it was, it works with the current release. i.e. 4.4.2-0ubuntu14 now.

Thanks.
