Random colours on shutdown

Bug Description

Binary package hint: xsplash

When shutting down, the bottom half of the screen shows lots of random pixelated colours. This happens on the black screen with the pulsing Ubuntu logo. I tried switching off Docky but that wasn't it.

Help?
