Bug Description

Binary package hint: knetworkmanager

Whilst KNetworkManager is good, the version in Kubuntu does have one flaw; it can see GSM devices, but cannot do anything with them.

This was fixed in trunk, can we have it updated, please?

This is still a problem with 10.4. Knetworkmanager is pretty much useless and we have to use kppp.

I'd say this should be medium priority; I mean, yeah, you can bug-fix to your heart's delight, but if your users can't download the bug-fix, then you've got a problem.

This bug seems weird, ive been using GSM modems for quite a while without problems. If this problem persists in 11.10 oneric, please try connecting to a network and then post the output of

egrep "(modem-manager|NetworkManager)" /var/log/syslog /var/log/debug /var/log/daemon.log
and
dpkg -l | grep network | grep manage
