Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

I am trying to configure Compiz so that Alt+Button3 (right mouse) resizes and the menu is opened either with Alt+Button2 (or no button binding, as I don't much care about it). I cannot, however, seem to accomplish this. I have tried using compizconfig-settings-manager, and the settings don't take effect. I have also tried to do it by directly editing the gconf keys with gconf-editor, again to no avail. My attempted changes did not take effect after logging out and back in again either.

Some more detail on the settings manager behavior: when I would set either button binding (window menu or initiate resize), it would tell me there was a conflict. I would either click "set anyway" or "disable <other>", but neither one worked. "set anyway" didn't set the option (at least persistently), and "disable <other>" didn't disable the other binding.

Metacity provides a simple hidden gconf option for this ('resize_with_right_button').

This with compiz 1:0.8.4-0ubuntu2, compizconfig-settings-manager 0.8.2-0ubuntu1.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.

This seems to have been fixed in Maverick.
