Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Linux distro Ubuntu 8.04 Kernel 2.6.24-26-generic
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; pt-BR; rv:1.9.0.16) Gecko/2009121602 Ubuntu/8.04 (hardy) Firefox/3.0.16.
JAVA SUN versao 6 update 17 plugin 1.6.0-17-b04.
[website in brazilian portuguese]
http://www.bb.com.br/portalbb/home23,116,116,1,1,1,1.bb
After entering a agency and account number...
I expected that the website invokes a java applet to security tools and password
Firefox always freezes when security devices is called.
My guess is that a new security device is not fully compatible with firefox!
Kind regards,
Pedro Brasil

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Sometimes Firefox profiles can become corrupt and/or extensions can conflict. Could you please try this with a new profile and see if the problem still exists? You do not need to delete your old profile to test. If this helps, you might want to try to disable all your extensions and re-enable them one by one until you find the problematic one.

You can start the profile manager with the following command:
firefox -ProfileManager

Changed in firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu):

Micah Gersten,

Thank you for the tips, after several try outs over here it seems that both
"adblock plus" and "noscript" are not compatible with this security device
with java applet even when they configured to allow all ads and scripts.

Now I have the inconvinence of disable them and restart firefox before
assess my bank account.

Is it possible to report this to these extensions developers?

Kind regards,

Pedro Brasil

Sure, could you provide the URL to the login page?

BTW, you can have multiple profiles, so you can have a profile for your
bank and one for everything else.

The webpage is :

http://www.bb.com.br/portalbb/home23,116,116,1,1,1,1.bb

in the top of the page there is two fields to stick in the agency and
account which will lead to activate the security device in java applet in
this address:

https://www2.bancobrasil.com.br/aapf/login.jsp?aapf.IDH=sim&perfil=1

Thank you again

Pedro
