Bug Description
Binary package hint: kdebase
Basic usb stick or media player (acting like a regular mass storage) are not automounted. Media folder does not show the device at all. Lsusb -command does not change the situation. These devices worked today on another machine running ubuntu 9.10. The same usb ports worked under windows xp.
Usb stick is Verbatim Micro USB Drive 8GB, mediaplayer us Diel symphony 300 8Gb.
This was a new installation from kubuntu 9.10 dvd, patched to todays level.
The Verbatim usb stick has ubuntu installed to it plus folder filled with my documents. Installation was done with 9.10 wizard, it has been working reliably on every machine so far on xp/ Vista/ ubuntu 8.4

I installed Ubuntu 9.10 from cd and the same usb port worked with the same usb stick and mediaplayer.
I also noticed that my dvd burner was not found, I downloaded the Ubuntu image on this machine and could not burn it with
k3b since the drive was not available. I haven't been using kde 4, but I used kde 3,5 and this drive was recognized and usable without any additional setup steps.
Motherboard is Msi P35 Neo F, usb controller is Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family)
