Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.15-25-686

Hello. In my Sony VAIO VGN-S4HP everytime I boot 686 version of kernel, there is a delay of about 118 seconds during the boot, in this position:

[17179580.472000] ACPI: bus type scsi registered
[17179580.472000] libata version 1.20 loaded.
[17179580.472000] ahci 0000:00:1f.2: version 1.2
[17179580.472000] ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:1f.2[B] -> GSI 18 (level, low) -> IRQ 201
... delay ...
[17179698.688000] PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:00:1f.2 to 64
[17179698.688000] ahci 0000:00:1f.2: AHCI 0001.0000 32 slots 4 ports 1.5 Gbps 0x5 impl IDE mode

With the 386 version of kernel there is a very short (just a couple of seconds) delay.

Thank you, Leonardo Macchia.

Launchpad Janitor (janitor) wrote : This bug is now reported against the 'linux' package

Beginning with the Hardy Heron 8.04 development cycle, all open Ubuntu kernel bugs need to be reported against the "linux" kernel package. We are automatically migrating this linux-source-2.6.15 kernel bug to the new "linux" package. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make this transition. Also, if you would be interested in testing the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release, it is available at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing . Please let us know your results. Thanks!
