Supertux fails on start with Segmentation fault

Binary package hint: supertux-stable

I attempted to start supertux from both the menu and from the command line. The screen would go black and then after a couple seconds the program fails and exits. I tried several times and can very easily duplicate this problem. When running from the command line I receive the following:

~$ supertux

Please change the command of supertux-stable in acarlate to supertux --opengl. This will solve it

Thankx dude, your opengl suggestion was works on my ubuntu 9.10 in Acer aspire3002NLCI,
with some little funny changes:

# After the game has run, it will goes slow down, because it using opengl mode.
Deactivated it from options -> unmark the opengl

i have same problem but the option OPENGL can't work on my computer. Because is P3 - 500Mhz.
