This seems quite serious because the web content is incomplete, yet my U1 folder seems to either be ignored so nothing changes, or the conflict file names simply re appear. So I am stuck, until I get to know what can be done.

How can I re set the situation without loosing my U1 folder contents (they are backed up localy anyway), or having to upload 12GB of files again which will take a long, long time?

Even after I used web access to my U1 web store area and deleted the relevant folder and files - this was 12 hours ago - I still find that my PC creates U1 conflict files when it should be using the folder which was renamed to remove the conflict extension, as a valid data for sync up to my webstore area

Hi!

We would need DEBUG logs to find the issue here.

You should do the following:

1. stop the syncdaemon client and applet, and be sure it's fully stopped ("ps -eaf | grep ubuntuone-client" should give you nothing).

2. put a file named syncdaemon.conf in your $HOME/.config/ubuntuone directory with the following information:

[__main__]
log_level = DEBUG

3. restart the client.

4. attach here the logs, just zip you $HOME/.cache/ubuntuone/log/ folder and attach the zip here.

Thanks for your time and help!
