Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor

on boot up Ubuntu stalls and display a notice about mounts in the /ect/fstab swap waiting for[ UUID=1f5e0efb-ce01-4c6e-9472-97daf48e5034 ] then it appears to boot up but there is not screen display, blank white. booting in recovery mode does not work. System is basically useless. I had ubuntu 9.04 and it worked fine. I see on web searches ( I dual boot with windows) that very many have much problem with the new release. Why do you put it out if it is soooo unstable?

Thanks for your bug report and for your contribution to ubuntu. In order to determine if this issue is usplash related, please boot your computer with usplash disabled and then shutdown to see if you can reproduce the issue? To disable usplash for a single boot, follow these steps:

1. Press Esc during Grub boot delay to access the boot menu.
2. Select your actual Ubuntu boot line and press "e" to edit it.
3. Select the "kernel" line and press "e" to edit it.
4. At the end of the line, remove "splash" and "quiet" and press "enter".
5. Type "b" to boot the custom boot line.

@Psven

Can you please confirm if you took the action suggested in my previous post and if so what were the results? Even if it wasn't successful then please let me know and we can take the next necessary step. Thank you.
