Bug Description
After having completed the installation of 10.04 alpha release on VirtualBox (non OSE version but version 3.1.0 r55467) the system doesn't reboot. That is when the button "restart" appears at the end of installation the system seems to hangs at shutdown (the screen becomes black with ubuntu logo at the center of it). I also noticed (but I don't know if it is an intended behaviour) that the message "please remove the disc and close the tray (if any) then press ENTER:" doesn't appear anymore (in 9.10 was ok).
I haven't tested 10.04 installation on real hardware so I don't know if this issue is also present on real host as well.
With VirtualBox 3.1.2 r56127 (last version) and the last 10.04 alpha the system still doesn't boot but now:
- the message "please remove the disc ..............." appears at the end of installation
- the system seems not to hans anymore at shutdown
I think the problem is in acpi. In fact even when install 10.04 I have to set acpi=off else the installation cannot start. The fact is that, after installing the system, at boot time grub is not selectable (esc key seems not to work) to change kernel parameters.
