Bug Description

about 2 weeks ago, the but "went away"? I am now receiving the same error regarding "dvd+rw-tools" each time the update manager is invoked. I have only a CD read-only device on this system.

Setting from (undefined) to update-manager, so it gets out the bugs list without package...
Can you open a terminal (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal), then run
1) 'sudo apt-get update' -> Update the latest list of packages
2) 'sudo apt-get upgrade' -> Upgrade all available package to the latest version.
and paste the output here. This should duplicate the update-manager problem and give us a more accurate description of the problem.

Also, are you using dapper, edgy or feisty?
Moreover, did you do any dist-upgrades (distribution upgrades such as breezy-> dapper, dapper->edgy or edgy->feisty) recently (i.e. since bug reported was submitted (2006-06-18))?

Thanks

After several months, this bug mysteriously disappeared from
subsequent updates.
