I will have xibo running on pc where I have windows task manager scheduled to run Xibo every so often. It can run few instances of program at the same time which might couse slow system performace (might couse some exceptions in XiboPlayer as well).
Once runned player should check if other instance is running and make it foregournd instead of running next one.

I don't understand why you would set task scheduler to run the client over and over again?

If you're looking to change the behaviour of Xibo then you should file a blueprint for that change, but this doesn't sound like a bug to me.

HI Alex,

I have few "information points" around my store. Staff can go in and get info about the products if customer asks. Once they finish they should tun xibo to display adverts, but they not always remember (customer first) to run it. I can schedule windows to make sure xibo is running every 15-20 min. I'm worried that if Xibo will run in 2 instances at the same time can couse some troubles.

Something like this: http://www.bobpowell.net/singleinstance.htm should be able to ensure that behaviour.

We intend 1.0.6 to be a server only release (as there are a few bug fixes we want to get out quickly). So I'll target this to 1.0.7.

Good idea in my opinion.

1. Could be nice when scripting as described above.
2. I had some problems when client was running and options were launched accidentliaty in same time. There was some problems in effect - for example client stop playing or talking to server etc (not sure with one, don't remember well but there sure was some bad effect) . This should fix it in easy way if options won't launch during playback.

Just looking at other blueprints and this will help with screensaver (https://blueprints.launchpad.net/xibo/+spec/xibo-screensaver). Once this will be implemented there will be no problem with another app forcing to run Xibo. Screen saver runs *.scr files everytime countdown is finished, so if you have screensaver setup to run after 5 mins, half an hour after Xibo will be running 6 instances.
