Bug Description

This probably should go in wish list. Instead of "Smart Remove," it may be better to have "Smart Keep" as is done by rsnapshot. So the GUI could look like this:

Snapshot frequency Number-of-savepoints
5_minutes 0
Hourly 24*2
Daily 7
Weekly 4
Monthly 12
Yearly -1 ( <0 would mean all)

Of course, the 'Number-of-savepoints' should be customizable by the user.

While smart keeping like that proposed may be desirable, I'd also like my backup solution to be intelligent about deleting an iteration if needed in order to have enough space to complete the current backup.

Customizable smart remove would be great. I'd like to keep just a little bit more per month than BiT does by default.

I searched a while to get to this wishlist. It would really be great to have the smart remove customable. At my usecase there is a daily work ongoing where I need to have more backups better named snapshots a day, week, month.

If there is any chance: big deal.
