Bug Description

Hi!

I'm the Debian maintainer of the jackd package and while chatting with an Ubuntu user, I noticed that you don't provide the binaries alsa_in and alsa_out for karmic (and probably all earlier releases).

They are useful if you want to add secondary soundcards to your already running jackd, e.g. USB microphones, more in-channels from a second card, more out channels on a second card and so on.

I encourage you to include these two binaries ASAP. Syncing with the Debian package would do the trick, we already ship them.

HTH

it's just a problem in jack-audio-connection-kit_0.116.1-4ubuntu2.diff

The file debian/jackd.install must contain:
debian/tmp/usr/bin/alsa_in
debian/tmp/usr/bin/alsa_out

Thanks for the report. Unfortunately, we can't sync due to an anticipated move to the "main" component meaning that we can't link against libraries still in universe. The identified binaries are now shipped in the JACK in lucid.

Changed in jack-audio-connection-kit (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Fix Released
