Sorry about the missing info. The problem has started every since the upgrade to karmic/Ubuntu 9.10/kernel linux 2.6.31. Now I don't know whether this has been fixed in newer kernels but I think such an issue would trigger some backporting so i think not. I will try to test newer kernels over the weekend.

Hi Jasa,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 501671

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

I have just tried the lucid release candidate (kernel 2.6.32-21-generic) and the bug is present.

The apport logs above are from karmic with kernel 2.6.31-21-generic.

I have also tried the latest kernel release candidate, 2.6.34-rc5 and the bug is also present there (so i removed the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag).

The bug is no longer present in lucid!

I'd love to say which linux-image version has the fix but I don't have time to check it out.

Can't say anything about maverick but hopefully no audio regressions there.
