Bug Description
This is inconsistent and confusing. I should probably make type hints work like filter hints.

This is turning out to be rather harder than expected, as certain changes to the DictionaryGrid, such as setting it to be editable, require regenerating all of the renders, etc...
In the meantime, a column that is generated at runtime needs all of the information about the grid (such as the index for the column, the index in the liststore that stores the dictionary, etc...) that won't be available to the developer consuming the API.
