Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

Ubuntu One has always worked fine on my Asus Eee 701. Did a system update yesterday (26/12/09), and now, instead of seeing those cloud symbols, I see a couple of arrows in a circle, before an announcement that Ubuntu One has crashed. Crashes whether there is an automatic startup or a manual launch. No sign of any activity to or from the Ubuntu One server.

Hi!

It seems that we're having a problem in the start up.

Please, stop the syncdaemon client and applet, and be sure it's fully stopped ("ps -eaf | grep ubuntuone-client" should give you nothing), and then start "ubuntuone-client-applet" from the command line.

Then attach here the output, so we could see the crash message.

Thanks for your time and help!

Okay, now instead of crashing, it's hanging indefinitely in the state where that cloud has the exclamation mark, whether or not I do it from the command prompt. As it's hanging instead of crashing, there's no crash message or any other output to go on.

Not sure whether this counts as the same bug or a different one now. Let me know what, if anything, I can do.

ALthough that might not help: The bug disappeared here the day after I
attached to this bug list.

Cristopher, yes, you could add DEBUG logs to this bug report, to help us find the issue.

You should do the following:

1. stop the syncdaemon client and applet, and be sure it's fully stopped ("ps -eaf | grep ubuntuone-client" should give you nothing).

2. put a file named syncdaemon.conf in your $HOME/.config/ubuntuone directory with the following information:

[__main__]
log_level = DEBUG

3. restart the client.

4. attach here the logs, just zip you $HOME/.cache/ubuntuone/log/ folder and attach the zip here.

Thanks for your time and help!

Sorry, got buried with Real Life (TM) and never got round to doing this. But now, here is the requested zip file. Hope this makes sense to someone.
