Bug Description

Hi,

I am running hardy heron on my ACER ASPIRE 4520G laptop. My laptop freezes while transferring data between external usb hard disk. I use or faced problem in two external hard disks: 1. Seagate freeagent SATA 1TB , 2. some local brand - IDE 74GB

The system will not freeze all the time, but while transferring large amounts of data, say about 700MB. I faced this problem many times while transferring the movie files, also when transferring some data files.

After the laptop freezes, the only way to access it is by hard resetting by holding the power button for few seconds.

Please find my system information:
madhan@:~$ lsb_release -a

madhan@:~$ uname -a
Linux madhan-laptop 2.6.24-26-generic #1 SMP Tue Dec 1 18:37:31 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux

I don't know what other information you need to find the problem. Please let me know what ever information you need, I am ready to provide it.

Thanks,
Rajmadhan E

Hi,

I am sorry, I removed hardy heron from my system and started using Ubuntu 9.10, so I could not provide any more information. I am not facing the reported problem in Karmic koala.

Thanks & Regards,
Rajmadhan E.

Rajmadhan E,

Thats ok and I'm glad you have stuck with Ubuntu. I think you will find Karmic koala to be very good indeed!

I am going to mark this bug as invalid as the reporter no longer is experiencing an issue.
