Ubuntu 9.10 + Ubuntu Studio: LMMS lmms_0.4.6 ppa-3_i386, either sound not working, or LMMS freezes when i test one sound

Hello, I have recently installed
Ubuntu 9.10, release 9.10,
then LMMS 0.4.5,
then Ubuntu Studio for 9.10
then upgraded LMMS with lmms_0.4.6 ppa-3_i386,

I am currently experiencing issue either sound not working, or LMMS freezes when i test one sound.

is this a bug?
or a wrong configuration.

did you use the

 ubuntu-bug lmms

command in your terminal?

It may be the ppa has a bug.

I use Ubuntu 11.04 (not studio) and LMMS 0.4.10 and it works fine. You might try to upgrade LMMS to 0.4.10

do you use ALSA, or JACK??? there may be an issue with the version of non LMMS files you are using.

some users lose the Sound/Video icon in the menu in Ubuntu 10 and up, so if you upgrade Ubuntu be aware you will have to run it from the terminal or add the desktop file manually
