Bug Description

Binary package hint: kmail

Hi,

On a laptop with Kmail IMAP setup, when the machine's IP address changes (i.e. the laptop is suspended, moved to another location, resumed and gets a new Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection), Kmail open IMAP session blocks - send-receive action blocks and the send-receive process needs to be manually cancelled and restarted for Kmail to reconnect to server, or one has to wait for a very long timeout.

Same goes when the laptop has been suspended for some time and reconnects to the same network.

Desired behaviour : Kmail should notice that the IP address has changed or a long time has passed without IMAP session activity, and should restart a new IMAP session in such a situation by itself.

Having to cancel the mail process then restart it everytime one suspends his laptop gets somewhat annoying in the long run ;-)

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more effective debugging.

Thanks!
