Bug Description

Binary package hint: devicekit-disks

I have a multiseat - pc with 2 grapiccards, 2 monitors, 2 mice, 2 keyboards. This works fine for me.
When i insert a USB-Stick or a SD-Card, it will mount correctly for me on seat1. It will display on the Desktop and all other works fine.
My wife sits on seat2. When she logs in, she does not have access to this usb-stick or sd-card. (yes she is in group disk, as i am)
When the Card or Stick or CD is inserted while she is logged in, she will get an error message that says that she is not authorized to mount this disk.

is there any place where i can change the permissions so that she will get the same access than i ?

Only one user can mount a drive at a time. If only your wife is logged in at seat two, can she access the usb stick/sd card?

When i remove the usb-Stick, the log out. then my wife logs in, and i insert the stick. That does not help.

It seems to me that the usb-Stick is "magically" mounted for user with UID 1000 and GID 100. But not for others.

Even a reboot with only login of the second user does not mount the disk with the right uid.

I had a look at your /etc/fstab, and it does contain the affected device (/media/2747-5097), but it's commented out (as most of those devices), so it shouldn't get in the way.

Can you please unmount the stick/card, log in as your wife, and then do

  devkit-disks --mount /dev/sde1
  mount

(or whatever the current device is, check the last couple of lines of "dmesg" after plugging it in). Please copy&paste all output.

Are you using Ubuntu and GNOME on this machine?
