Bug Description

Binary package hint: xfce4-power-manager

Bug description:

When I start my laptop usually the screen brightness is set to minimum. I have xfce4-power-manager running in e17. However trying to increase the screen brightness using the function keys fails.
Running xfce4-power-manager --no-daemon in a terminal gives the following output:

(xfce4-power-manager:2106): xfce4-power-manager-WARNING **: could not map keysym 1008ffa8 to keycode

and pressing one of the brightness function keys results in a segfault
.
However after setting the brightness manually via: echo 7 >/sys/class/backlight/sony/brightness
xfce4-power-manager works fine and setting the brightness works.

Backtrace attached.

Hi,

sorry for the late reply on this, somehow I missed the update on the bug. I've attached the information to the xfce bugzilla entry.

No segfault anymore, and the patch is already in lucid.

The brightness buttons are still not working correctly though. So do I open a new bug report or should this bug report be left open?

This is a slightly different issue, so I think you should open a new bug, it'll be clearer (btw, you can open it directly on bugzilla.xfce.org if you have an account, opening one on launchpad isn't mandatory in this case).
