No sound from Kaffeine on Ububtu 6-0-6

Bug Description

I receive sound when i play CD's etc using other players.
I receive pictures when playing DVD & CD on Kaffeine. I have checked that i have downloaded and installed plug-ins but there is still no sound when i play them.
Please could you help me.

Precisely what types of media are inaudible with Kaffeine?

When I play a dvd or cd (with film on it) via the 52x cd player and the DVD RW player. In using exactly the same scenario on Xandros or Mepis there is no problem at all.

That's a codec issue.
Mepis probably comes with nonfree codecs out of the box.
