Bug Description

it's a known bug in ubuntu 9.10 so here is how to fix it. The only problem is you have to do it each time you boot up or logout. I suggest saving to a document and copy and paste.

Open up places, Computer & if you see a virtual CD rom & a SSD card slot.

right mouse click on the Virtual CD rom (you don't need it, there windows drivers) & select safety remove device)

then when the SSD card reader & virtual CD rom has dissapered , close the computer browser box

open a terminal up (Applications , Accessory , Terminal)

then TYPE

sudo rmmod usb-storage

sudo modprobe -r option

sudo modprobe -r usbserial

sudo modprobe usbserial vendor=0x12d1 product=0x1001

sudo pppd ttyUSB0

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage , so I have classified this bug as a bug in linux package.
