Bug Description
Binary package hint: pidgin
When i launch pidgin from command line i see the message:
sh: cannot create : Invalid or incomplete multibyte or wide character
all next launches give me this message:
sh: !: not found
it tries to create some file in my home folder. And there is some with the size 0.
And then it can't connect to any server.
Why does pidgin needs to launch sh? Isn't it someone hacked the pidgin and installed some sort of rootkit?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Do you get the same with Lucid or Maverick? Thanks in advance.
