Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-system-
The first time I noticed that bug was during the pop-ups of the notifier ("connected to network", etc.). The attached file shows what that looks like.
I get a similar pattern when I try to open the gnome-system-
When I switch to the lowest compiz setting in gnome (normal), these windows show the correct content.
Other programs that I normally use, don't have these problems. As a matter of fact, I only realized the problem with the system-monitor when I tried to get the process id to report this bug. And as I don't know which package the notification area belongs to, I file it against the gnome-system-
I can reproduce the bug on a freshly installed Karmic system, on the Karmic i386 Live CD and on todays build of the Lucid Live CD.
Karmic:
I tried xorg-edgers - same problem.
Lucid;
The dsplay on the Lucid build looks weird even with compiz, but at least the text is readable. When switchin the visual effects off, I again get some kind of pattern.
The laptop I'm running is a few years old and uses an ATI radeon card (r100 driver).
